   • Receive electronic statements via Digital Banking, and
   • Make 10 debit card purchases. The purchases must be posted to your account by 17:00 NY time on the last business day of the month.

   Any checking account balance over $15,000 earns the standard rate.

If you are a US citizen or permanent resident, you can choose to open a share certificate as an individual retirement account (IRA) for tax benefits.  IRA share certificates are not available for the 9-month, 12-month: Impact, 24-month: Simple Saver, and 48-month terms. Please consult a tax advisor to understand if an IRA share certificate is right for you. 

1. Unless otherwise noted, all terms are for standard share certificates. Dividends are compounded daily and credited monthly during the term of the certificate. Dividends can be withdrawn each month without penalty. Any additional early withdrawals will be subject to penalties.

Rates are subject to change without prior notice. However, the rate in effect at the time of a share certificate opening will be fixed for the term of the product. The Flex Rate share certificate, which allows you to change the rate once over its term, is the only exception.

1. APR = Annual Percentage Rate. Creditworthiness and loan amount will determine actual APR. Rate quoted is a 12-month introductory rate for Azure and a 6-month introductory rate for Elite. Thereafter, the rate will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate. Your actual APR may be lower than the US Prime plus margin if the rate is subject to regulatory limits.
2. No annual fee for Azure. Annual fee for Elite is $50.00.

1. APR = Annual Percentage Rate. Creditworthiness, UN contract type, and loan amount will determine actual APR. The term of your loan is an additional factor in determining actual APR for all loans, except the line of credit and the secured with deposits loan. Eligible UN consultants will be charged 0.50% more than the advertised APR on all loans.
2. Rates for personal loans to purchase electric and hybrid vehicles may be discounted by an additional 0.25%. Term will determine actual APR.
3. Rates for new cars may be discounted by 0.25% for every 5.00% down payment, up to a maximum discount of 1.00%. Electric and hybrid vehicles may be discounted by 0.25%. Term will determine actual APR.

Variable rates are fixed for the first six months of your unsecured loan. Thereafter, the variable rate may increase and is based on the Wall Street Journal Prime Rate plus the margin.

1. Rates listed on this page apply to purchases and refinancing of primary residences and owner-occupied second homes in select areas of Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, and Machakos counties in Kenya by applicants who meet all eligibility criteria. These include, but are not limited to:
   • Applicant intends to occupy the property being financed (investment properties are not eligible); and
   • Applicant is not a resident of the United States; and
   • Applicant is a UNFCU member who is a UN employee with a current professional or field service contract and is earning income in a currency eligible for UNFCU Kenya mortgages, or
   • Applicant is a UN General Service staff or National Professional Officer located in an eligible country and earning income in an eligible currency, or
   • Applicant is a UN retiree with a prior Professional or Field Service contract and receives a pension in an eligible currency.
2. For variable rate mortgages, the quoted rate is fixed for the initial period of either 3 or 5 years, as applicable. Thereafter it will be subject to change annually and may increase. The variable rate is calculated each year by adding the applicable margin to the WSJ Prime rate. The maximum term is 15 years.
