Let’s get you started as the newest member of our financial cooperative. Employees and retirees of the United Nations and its affiliated agencies, including the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, are always welcome.

Select your membership type to view the documents required with your application
- Proof of employment or retirement status:
- Copy of your current UN contract with a 6-month minimum term1
- Letter of appointment
- Personnel action form, or other proof of employment or retirement status
- Pension statements (for UN retirees only)
- A valid government-issued identification, such as a current passport, driver’s license, or national ID card, that includes all of the following:
- Photo
- First and last names
- Date of birth
- ID number
- Signature
We may, at our discretion, request additional forms of identification to verify your identity.
- Mailing address where you would like to receive communications from us
- Residential address if different from your mailing address (This should not include a PO box.)
- $25.00 to fund your Membership Share
- Your social security number if you are a US taxpayer, or your tax identification number if you are not a US taxpayer
- The member number and date of birth of the UNFCU member with whom you have a relationship
- Proof of your relationship, such as a birth or marriage certificate or a utility bill3
- A valid government-issued identification, such as a current passport, driver’s license, or national ID card, that includes all of the following:
- Photo
- First and last names
- Date of birth
- ID number
- Signature
We may, at our discretion, request additional forms of identification to verify your identity.
- Mailing address where you would like to receive communications from us
- Residential address if different from your mailing address (This should not include a PO box.)
- $25.00 to fund your Membership Share
- Your social security number if you are a US taxpayer, or your tax identification number if you are not a US taxpayer
- Proof of employment:
- Copy of your ADB certificate of employment
- ADB UNFCU Undertaking
- This form is required to be completed and signed by the prospective member.
- A valid government-issued identification, such as a current passport, driver’s license, or national ID card, that includes all of the following:
- Photo
- First and last names
- Date of birth
- ID number
- Signature
We may, at our discretion, request additional forms of identification to verify your identity.
- Mailing address where you would like to receive communications from us
- Residential address if different from your mailing address (This should not include a PO box)
- $25.00 to fund your Membership Share
- Your social security number if you are a US taxpayer, or your tax identification number (TIN) if you are not a US taxpayer
If you are not a US taxpayer and unable to provide a foreign TIN, you must also complete the Explanation of Missing Foreign Tax Identifying Number form (PDF). These are examples of explanations that the IRS will accept:
- My country of permanent residence does not issue foreign TINs.
- I am not legally required to obtain a foreign TIN.
